It was at night time, I was getting ready for bed. It was a normal day. Normal sky, normal people, normal routine. So, normally, I would go to bed at around 11:00. But just before I closed my eyes, to end this normal day, there was a noise.
I had never heard this noise before, so of course, it interested me. I jumped out of bed, and skipped to the window. I pushed the light blue curtain over slightly and looked out in wonder.
At first I saw nothing. Just the pale moon, and the dark blue night sky. With twinkling, bright stars, making curious shapes in the sky. Then I looked to the left. I saw a box.
An old looking blue box. It had a light on the top of it, it was almost as bright as the stars. It said 'Police Public Call Box' on the top. With little windows underneath the words. Underneath the windows, was a little sign. And a door handle.
"What in the world?" I whispered in a breathy voice
I was brave, so I slipped on my sandals and got my bathrobe. I ran outside, the chilly night air stunning me. I stepped in the cool, wet, grass. I had stopped running, and I started to slowley walk to the mysterious blue box. I stuck a hand out, ready to touch it.
I breathed in and swalloed. I took little steps, and finally, my pale hand touched the blue wall. And it was wood. I put my entire hand on it, and spread my fingers, feeling it. I put my other hand on it as well, and I felt the box. I breathed out, and laughed a little. I could see my breath against the blue.
"Well, your gorgeous, aren't you? But where'd you come from?" I spoke softly
I heard footsteps, and I quickly took my hands off the box and turned around. Right behind me, was a man. My face smacked against his chest, and we both gasped.
"Whoa!" I hollered as I tripped backwards
He caught my shoulders, and straightened me out. His hands were so sure, and secure.
"Yes, this is a very gorgeous box. It came from Gallifrey, my home. I brought it here. Sorry about almost taking you down, i cause a lot of trouble like that." He spoke quickly, in a british accent.
I looked at his chest, which was eye level with me, and saw a brown shirt with small red stripes in them. I also saw a red bowtie, and a brown jacket. I looked up and saw his face. Beautiful brown eyes, fair skin, and a daring smile. And dark brown hair, he had the hair of an idiot. It was so messed up, and there was so much of it.
"It's not nice to stare, but then again, I stare all the time." he said with a deep cracking in his voice, and a wider smile.
He let go of my shoulders, and stepped back. His hands to his side, and smiling.
"Who are-" I was cut off.
"Oh, sorry. I'm The Doctor. Call me The Doctor, you can also call me John Smith, or just Smith. Either is fine, but I mostly go by The Doctor." He spoke quickly again, then he ran his hand through his mass of hair. With that goofy smile still on his face.
"Doctor. Doctor who?" I asked
"Exactly." He ran off, into the box.
And I stupidly followed, thinking nothing was going to happen.
He ran to the door, and opened it. He ran inside, and I followed. I was about to open my mouth, and ask a question. But, then I saw the inside.
"It... It's..." I stuttered, not able to bring words to my mouth
He laughed and started pressing buttons, then he in my direction. He went behind me and closed the door.
"It's bigger on the inside." I breathed
He mouthed what I said at the same time I said it, it made me think he's heard this before.
"What... What is this?" I asked
"This is my TARDIS. I didn't catch your name, what was it?"
I looked at him, and smiled a little.
"Cassandra..." I was still surprised by the box.
"That's a brilliant name. Cassandra. Did you know that the Greek God, Apollo, had a human lover named Cassandra?" He talked endlessly, but I didn't mind. It wasn't annoying.
The room, had a bridge from the door to the middle of the room. Where all of these buttons and levers were, and a giant glass thing in the center. The glass thing moved up and down. And the TARDIS made a weird noise, the noise I had heard before.
"Why is it making that noise?" I asked
"Because we're traveling through time and space. It always makes that noise, its a fantastic noise." He said, his arms were crossed and he was leaning against the controls in the center of the room. Giving me space to take it all in.
"Time and space?"
He nodded, and walked toward me. He smiled the goofy smile again.
"So, all of time and space, things to see and places to go, all the time in the world. Where would you like to start, Cassandra?" He asked
I gazed at him in wonder. Who was this impossible man? I had just met him, yet I feel like I could trust him with my life. Why is that? Is it because he's confident?
He was waiting for an answer, and he raised his eyebrows in anticipation.
"Show me the stars. The planets, galaxies, aliens, the world. Everything." I said, almost as if someone made me say it.
He jumped up and down like a little kid, and his smiled wider.
"Alright! Hang on to something, Cassandra!!" He ran to the controls, and pulled a lever. An open-mouthed smile on his face, and his eyes wide with excitement.
Who was this impossible man? He was insane, enjoyable, confident, and everything that couldn't possible equal up to anyone I have ever met before.
He was a madman with a blue box. Thats what he was. But, it wasn't bad. It was exciting.
This is how I'd come to meet The Doctor. My Doctor, who had the rage of Hell, the love of a husband, the happiness of a puppy, and the kindness of a old heart. He was perfect, yet, imperfect.
My Doctor <3
